WRITE-IN CANDIDACY NOTICE
Due to recent law changes (K.S.A. 25-305), a person who wishes to run as a write-in candidate for national, state, county or 1st class city office, must file an affidavit of write-in candidacy in order to have those votes tabulated. The affidavit for national and state candidates must be filed with the Kansas Secretary of State. The affidavit for county and 1st class city candidates must be filed with the county election officer.
The deadline to file the affidavits is the fourth Monday prior to Election Day. Monday, Oct 14th for the General Election.
Write-in candidates for township office are not required to file an affidavit, all votes will be counted in those races.
